This project involves a 800m-link roadway between Rosslare Harbour and the N25. Design proposals include a new junction/roundabout design, services and drainage.

Hayes Higgins provide full project management, Civil Structural, Highways and Transportation Engineering Services in which Soil Stabilisation was proposed for soils with CBR of 1% or less saving client approx 20% on budget.

Soil modification and stabilisation using lime or lime/cement is a commonly used method of providing a construction platform in many countries. The advantages of in-situ stabilisation are many. They include reduced disposal of sub-standard clays, reduced importing of aggregates, far less truck movements and reduced costs.
