Hayes Higgins Partnership provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services and Design and Supervision Services for this project which was constructed under the GCCC Form of Contract. The project consisted of the construction of 22 No. senior citizen apartments in 2No. blocks of two storeys. The external and internal load bearing walls were of blockwork construction bearing onto strip foundations. The first floor and a stairways were constructed using precast concrete elements with the roof being constructed using prefabricated timber trusses. HHP also provided design services for the external foul & surface drainage, roadways, footpaths and over 200m of boundary walls & railings around the perimeter of the development.

Innovation:

In lieu of installing a standard attenuation tank, the attenuation system for the storm water drainage was designed to be contained in a tanked pea gravel layer 500mm deep located directly below the cobbled carparking areas.
