This project consisted of the construction of new drainage services on the Diageo Brewery site, Kilkenny. Hayes Higgins Partnership provided Civil/Structural design services for the project including drainage design as well as providing Project Supervisor Design Process services.

As Civil/Structural Engineers we examined all the sewers via CCTV and manned inspections and devised suitable refurbishment/lining proposals and miscellaneous repair works across the 30 acre city centre site to ensure that all effluent is discharged directly to a new effluent treatment plant. This new Effluent Treatment Plant caters for gravity drainage of high ph effluent from new bunding facilities. 

 

As the Project Supervisor Design Stage our services include:

  1. Identifying hazards arising from the design or from the technical organisational, planning or time related aspects of the project.

  2. Communicate necessary control measures, design assumptions or remaining risks to the PSCS.

  3. Ensure the work of designers is coordinated to ensure safety.

  4. Organise cooperation between the various designers.

  5. Preparation of a Preliminary Health & Safety Plan.

  6. Provide information to the Safety File for the completed structure.
