Hayes Higgins Partnership are provided Building Services (M&E) Engineering Services for this building the full refurbishment at Ofalia House, Community Nursing Unit, Edenderry, Co. Offaly. This project completed in May 2017 and involved the full refurbishment and reconfiguration of the 24 bed residential accommodation to comply with HIQA standards for accommodation in residential care settings.
The refurbishment consisted of the following:
Reconfiguration of multi-occupancy wards to provide 8 No 2 bed en-suite bedrooms.
Reconfiguration of existing inadequately sized single rooms to provide 3 No single en-suite bedrooms.
All refurbished bedrooms have a clinical wash hand basin mounted on an IPS panel to HTM 64 standard with TMV3DO8 thermostatically operated elbow operated taps.
Sentinel temperature monitoring with automatic flushing will be required in two locations (one in each block linked to the Building Management System.
Reconfiguration and upgrade of accommodation occupied by the Ambulance service to facilitate separation from the residential accommodation and to provide additionally a separate shower room, sluice room, locker room and store room.
