Hayes Higgins Partnership acted through Donal Higgins, upon secondment to NTR as Client Site Project Manager for the development of the West Link (M50) Toll Motorway.

This project including the 385 metre long Liffey Valley Bridge, three Motorway Bridges and the Ten Lane Toll Plaza was a Public Private Partnership and included design, build, finance and operate.

The bridge is 385m long, five spans with a maximum span of 90m. The deck is a post-tensioned reinforced concrete single cell box girder. Deck construction comprised in-situ balanced cantilevering with large diameter tubular temporary props at each permanent pier.

Donal was as a liaison between consultants, contractors and local authorities. Donal monitored expenditure, implemented detailed control procedures and reviewed design and construction progress.
