This project consisted of the repair, replacement and repointment to the East Gable of St. Canices Cathedral Kilkenny. Our advice included removal of existing render, replacing the existing mortar joints with a new lime mortar mix. In tandemn with the re-pointing, existing cracks were injected with Helibond grout and stainless steel helibars were placed into the existing cracks @ 400mm ctrs. and repointed using a new lime mortar mix to match the existing.

We also carried out a crack survey report which involved a complete photo survey of the East Gable of St. Canices Cathedral.

 

Acting as Project Supervisor Design Process for St. Canices Cathedral Kilkenny our responsibilities included the following:

  1. Identifying hazards arising from the design or from the technical organisational, planning or time related aspects of the project.

  2. Communicate necessary control measures, design assumptions or remaining risks to the PSCS.

  3. Ensure the work of designers was coordinated to ensure safety.

  4. Construction site Health and Safety Audits.

  5. Preparation of Preliminary Health and Safety Plan advising the Client on issues relating to Health and Safety at this point in the project cycle.

  6. Compilation of the Safety and Health File at completion and presenting it to the Client.
