Hayes Higgins Partnership provided the Mechancial & Electrical Engineering Services for the demolition, refurbishment and new build of St Brigid’s College. HHP oversaw the improvement and upgrading of the existing educational, social and administrative space of the school. All existing building services were upgraded to current department of education and skills standards in accordance with the TGD’s. Energy performance of existing building envelope was evaluated to investigate any potential opportunities for improving the thermal performance. This school project was particularly complex due to a number of phases involved. As each phase was completed the school was changed over in an efficient manner. The school remained live throughout the construction phases causing minimum disruption. Careful co-ordination was required with the Architect and Structural Engineer to provide modern day services which preserved the building fabric and complimented the period nature of the building. New services were seamlessly integrated with existing services to achieve uniformity in heating and lighting type and levels throughout the internal learning environment
