Hayes Higgins Partnership provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services and Design and Supervision Services for this project which was constructed under the Government Construction Contracts Committee Form of Contract.
The Holywell Educate Together National School in Swords project consisted of a 24 classroom school over 3 levels of circa 4600m² and associated siteworks. The school includes a 2 Class Special Needs Unit, Shared Community Facility, staff areas, Offices, Library and Special Education Tuition Rooms and Ancillary Accommodation. The Shared Community Facility consisting of a 600m² General Purpose Hall with associated changing rooms, dance studios, meeting rooms, crèche facility and office spaces which will be utilised both by the School and the General Community. The siteworks include for 3No. ball courts, grassed play areas, landscaping, pedestrian and vehicle access roads, car park and link road.
This project was one of 10 design & build schools tendered in 2012 under the Rapid Build Schools Delivery Programme. Construction commenced on site on 10th January 2011 and the school was substantially completed on 31st August 2011 prior to the start of the 2011/2012 academic year.
