Overview

This project involved the development of a 68-bedroom spa / hotel with extensive spa and leisure facilities. The hotel is constructed of two and three storey buildings designed to blend in with the existing natural environment. The existing Monart House is a protected structure with views of Vinegar Hill, as is the entrance.

The Hotel Development

The main structural scheme is a blend of predominantly timber framed two and three storey blocks stiffened with block or reinforced concrete service cores. The central atrium is framed in steel and timber and finished with 8.0m high planar glazing.

Stormwater flooding is mitigated by the use of attenuated ponds. Wastewater is treated in treatment plant polishing in a reed bed. From there the tertiary effluent discharges into wet pond, The wet pond discharges into a nearby river.
